The 1st World Conference on Terraced Landscapes will be held from November 11 to 15 2010 in China, in the Honghe Prefecture. Beside an exchange of knowledge about terraced landscapes worldwide, it has the objectives of defining a World Declaration on Terraced Landscapes, with the participation of UNESCO in the works (click here for more info). Next Autumn will be dense of international events regarding terraced landscapes, with the International Dry Stone Congress in Cumbria (Sep 4-6) and the First World Conference (Nov 11-15): it is the sign of an increasing interest for these traditional land management techniques - and ALPTER Project will be in the game!
